2023 Jeep Gladiator
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is the newest model of this well-regarded off-road truck. It has incredible features that make it perfect for city, highway and off-road travelling. With a starting price of $53,990 for the Sport S 4 x 4, this truck offers plenty for its worth.
Motor and fuel specs
You can get the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine with engine stop-start (ESS) or the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine with ESS. The Pentastar engine offers 285 hp at 6,400 rpm, whereas the EcoDiesel engine delivers 260 hp at 3,600 rpm.
The fuel consumption is good for its segment, with 14.3 L/100 km in city driving and 10.4L/100 km on the highway for the Pentastar engine. The EcoDiesel engine performs similarly at 10.6L/100 km (city) but is noticeably better on highways at 8.40L/100 km. The gas tank has a capacity of 83.3 L, whereas the diesel tank is just 69.3 L.
Transmission
The Jeep Gladiator comes with both manual and automatic transmission options. The manual transmission is six-speed with an overdrive setting, while the automatic version is eight-speed.
Interiors and features
The interiors will feel very familiar to Jeep drivers, being both practical and comfortable. It has five seats and open-air driving options, with a fold-down windshield and removable doors.
Seats are foldable and can be adjusted in different ways to accommodate gear. The front seats are heated, as is the steering wheel.
Among many features is an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Wi-fi on the go and much more. Speakers are also removable and have wireless connectivity. They get recharged when you’re driving and are water-and-dust resistant.
Safety and driver assistance
As well as several safety features, it offers ParkSense Rear Park Assist, which includes sensors that detect obstacles behind the vehicle. It also has the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera with dynamic gridlines.
The blind spot monitoring feature lets you detect other vehicles and alert you if they’re travelling in your blind spot zones.
Tire Pressure Monitoring also warns if tire pressure goes up or down the recommended thresholds. You don’t need to use keys to enter the vehicle as there is a keyless feature.
The vehicle also offers ABS braking, a brake assist system, and frontal and side airbags with optional power locks.
Improvements over last year’s model
There have been some upgrades over the 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Aside from the keyless entry, there are other important features such as an 18-cm instrument cluster, remote start and a garage door opener for more expensive models such as the Willys.
There is also a new exterior colour called High Velocity.
